Main Report
I met someone on a dating app and moved the conversation to Telegram. We talked normally for almost a month before she mentioned cryptocurrency liquidity mining. When I said it sounded suspicious, she dropped the subject for a few more weeks, which made the relationship feel less like a sales pitch.
She later returned to it and claimed to make about 1% to 2% per day. To make the process look harmless, she sent 0.01 ETH to a real Coinbase Wallet I had created and directed me to ethcapital.net. She said I only needed to load USDT and use the site's Receive button to join the node.
Before funding it, I researched what that button would do. I found that it would create a token approval or contract capable of accessing the USDT in the wallet. I stopped before losing money.
This is a near-miss report, not a claim that ethcapital.net took funds from me. The warning signs were the long romantic grooming, unrealistic daily returns, a small ETH incentive, and pressure to authorize a DApp. Receiving real crypto from a contact does not make the proposed platform safe.
