Someone reached out to me on WhatsApp claiming to be a portfolio manager for a high-yield division of Fidelity. They sent me a link to fidelity-gains.com and the landing page looked highly professional, complete with stolen corporate logos and fake regulatory registration numbers printed at the bottom.
I deposited $1,000 via Bitcoin to test out their short-term compounding pool. After a few days, I tried logging back into the user dashboard only to find that the site layout had completely changed and my login credentials were no longer recognized by the server.
When I managed to get a hold of the person who recruited me, they claimed my account was flagged for an unverified IP address and that I need to send another $500 to unlock the profile. This is an absolute phishing clone. They use the name of a massive real company to make you feel safe, but the actual website domain is just a disposable frontend used to steal crypto deposits.
