I would not treat a polished trading site as proof that it is authorised. The FCA warning specifically names smartselectonlinetrade.com and says Smart Select Online Trade is not authorised by the regulator and may be targeting people in the UK.
For me, the important point is to match the exact website and firm against the regulator’s record before taking up an offer. The notice concerns UK authorisation; it does not describe a particular customer’s experience.
