Swappix.io claimed my ETH refund was completed but sent it to a burn address

I used BestChange to find an exchanger for a 2.4 ETH to USDT TRC20 swap and chose Swappix.io because it had hundreds of positive reviews. Immediately after I sent the ETH, the website returned a 404 error.

Support told me the transaction had failed an AML check and said it would refund my ETH. It later publicly claimed the funds had been returned, which marked my BestChange complaint as solved. But the transaction hash it provided showed the ETH had been sent to the null burn address, not back to my wallet.

Do not assume a successful-looking blockchain transaction means you received a refund. Check the destination address yourself. My ETH was not returned to me despite Swappix.io's public refund claim.
