Main Report
My retired in-laws found B Capitalist through a Facebook advertisement. Russian is their first language, and the website and the representative they spoke with on Telegram were available in Russian as well as English. The business claimed it could help them invest in foreign-exchange trading.
They were instructed to open an account with a bank that allowed cryptocurrency exchange and deposit money for trading. At first, the account appeared to perform well and they were able to withdraw a small amount, which increased their confidence.
The account later appeared to perform badly, and nearly all of their savings disappeared. It was then locked, and they were told that more money had to be paid to unlock it and access any remaining balance. The BBB report records a $90,000 loss. Families should be especially cautious when an investment representative combines social-media advertising, language-specific outreach, crypto transfers, and demands for more money after an account is locked.
