My mother invested around 300,000 in something called Bank of Humanity. We found out after the investment had already happened, and my family does not understand what the organisation or investment platform actually is.
She had previously lost around 500,000 in a romance scam. Despite our repeated warnings, she was encouraged to invest again by a former retiree and people from her church. She even took out a loan against her pension to make the investment.
We are devastated and trying to understand whether Bank of Humanity is legitimate or whether other people have had similar experiences. Do not borrow against a pension or send money into this type of opportunity without independent verification and advice from a trusted financial professional.
