Main Report
I received a text from someone calling himself Robert and claiming to represent Summit Law Associates. He already knew about my company and a trademark application that had been rejected, which made the contact seem credible at first.
The message said I needed to act to secure ownership of the trademark and implied that another client could claim it if I did not hire them. The pressure felt both threatening and promotional: create fear around a public filing, then offer paid legal help as the solution.
Trademark applications are publicly searchable, so knowing my business details did not prove that this person was connected to the USPTO or a legitimate legal matter. I would not send documents or payment through summitlawassociates.com without verifying the firm and attorney independently.
