I was contacted on Signal by someone I believed was a successful TikTok day trader. She directed me to Exodus and Quantro Ex, saying I could copy her trades after moving money from my checking account.
I sent $550 first and then another $500. When I asked how to withdraw, I was told I needed to keep making new deposits to trade and then use a crypto ATM with her guidance. I later discovered the TikTok profile was not genuine.
It took me a year to save $1,000. I reported the transfers to my bank immediately, but I do not know whether the money will be recovered.
