OK-Coin account stayed frozen after repeated tax demands

I was contacted through WhatsApp by people offering stock lessons that later shifted into crypto trading. After being shown initial USDT growth, I was encouraged to join a VIP group and deposit a much larger amount on OK-Coin.

The displayed balance grew dramatically, but I was asked to pay federal and then state taxes before I could withdraw. The account remained frozen after those payments, and the reported loss was $159,000.
