Mexctech used a dating contact to steer me into a fake exchange

I met someone online who presented herself as a woman living in California and gradually encouraged me to invest through mexctech.com. The website resembled a cryptocurrency exchange and showed activity that made the arrangement appear profitable.

After sending money, I discovered that the domain had only been registered in November 2025. The balances on the site could not be treated as genuine exchange assets, and the person who introduced me to the platform was no longer a reliable contact.

Mexctech should not be confused with MEXC. Similar branding was part of what made the site initially appear familiar.
