I met someone on TikTok who claimed to be a Bitcoin investor connected with ProsperaStock. After I sent Bitcoin and opened an account, the platform showed large profits from what began as a smaller deposit. I became increasingly uncomfortable and tried to cash out.
I was told I had made $460,000 and then sold what I believe was a fraudulent New York stock-trader license for $3,350. To close my account, I was asked to send another $19,300 in Bitcoin. My reported loss was $40,347, and I do not believe the displayed balance was genuinely withdrawable.
