A Reddit user described scammers impersonating Takashi Murakami and attempting to pull them into an NFT purchase process. The scam used the artist’s name and a minting website to create urgency and legitimacy around the transaction.
The reported attempted loss was around $7,000. The r/Scams warning was posted on June 13, 2026. Always verify NFT drops from the artist’s official channels, not emails, private links, or standalone minting pages.
