EplayChallenger tried to capture my Steam login through a fake tournament invite

An old gaming friend contacted me unexpectedly and asked me to fill the fifth position on his team for a small Counter-Strike tournament.

The invitation sounded believable until eplaychallenger.com asked me to connect directly with my Steam account. I had not spoken to this person in years, and there was no reason an unknown tournament page needed access to my gaming identity.

I stopped before entering my credentials. Anyone receiving this invitation should assume the friend's account may be compromised and verify through another communication channel.
