I am warning families to act quickly when a WhatsApp relationship turns into crypto investing.
More than $45,000 was sent into what appeared to be a fake investment setup. The victim believed the account was growing, but the money was not sitting safely in a real crypto wallet. The scammers used a fake dashboard to keep the illusion alive while continuing communication through WhatsApp.
This kind of scheme is hard to break because the emotional relationship protects the financial lie. If someone close to you is sending funds to a person they only know through WhatsApp, preserve the chats, wallet addresses, and transaction records immediately.
