Someone contacted me about a crypto investment opportunity and pointed me toward lumonel.com.

The pitch did not feel normal. The person claimed they were not connected to the website, but kept pushing me to send Bitcoin to their wallet and provide proof of payment. When I checked the company and the people listed on the site, I could not find any real online presence for them.

It looked like inactive or compromised LinkedIn accounts may have been used to make the approach feel trustworthy. I would not send Bitcoin to anyone connected with this setup.

If you were a victim of this company, I believe you should should report it, but most Cybercrime authorities and law enforcement will only log a complaint, at best build a case against that company and most people would rather not deal with LE. With most of these fake companies you should use a professional recovery service, they are faster and you're sure to get your money back. Write me if you need a referral for the one that helped me.
