New York Depositary used look-alike domains to collect my shareholder documents

I was contacted by an entity calling itself New York Depositary about a tender offer for my shares.

After I sent shareholder documentation, I tried to withdraw my acceptance and discovered that one of the email domains they gave me did not even exist in DNS. A reply later came from a slightly different look-alike domain.

The domain mismatch made it clear the setup was not a normal depositary or transfer-agent process. It looked designed to collect shareholder information under false pretenses.
